Remove the patch and wet the damaged area with hot water using your cloth. Peel away the damaged piece but be very careful not to damage the surrounding areas of wallpaper. If the damaged area does not come off easily, you may use a small amount to dishwashing detergent to help loosen the damaged wallpaper.
The history of wall mural paintings is as rich as it is complex. Mural paintings go back to pre-date written history, appearing first as a form of communication on the walls of caves. As cavemen *cough* artists began to evolve, so did their message and purpose. Wall mural paintings have since become a way to convey political messages, to make ugly walls pretty, to inspire the imagination, and to help people focus on society's issues. Murals have continued to evolve over the centuries not only in their purpose, but their uses. Sometime around the turn of the 20th century, wall mural paintings became a welcome addition to people's homes, as a form of home decor.
There are so many other resourceful and fun ways to use old wallpaper. One of the more creative ways I have found is to make a jigsaw puzzle. Simply take the wallpaper, wet the back and attach it to a sturdy piece of cardboard. Cut out the pieces from there to make the puzzle that you want to make. Leftover wallpaper is good as decoration for paneled furniture as well. Many have applied wallpaper to the backs of such things as bookcases and entertainment centers, thereby adding more color and dynamism to the room.
