As a professional contractor one of the questions that I am asked the most is "What is the best way to remove wallpaper?" This is a project that can be very daunting for many homeowners. In this article I will go over what I believe is the best and most efficient way to remove wallpaper.
This is a quick, maintainable, affordable and easy to install solution for your decorating needs. It can be applied over paint or other wallpaper. It comes in two ways either pre-pasted or un-pasted. If un-pasted first apply the paste to the wall so the mural does not become damp from the adhesive. Excess past can be removed with a sponge. A brush is used to smooth out the mural. Trimming is done after the mural is fully dried. The standard pre-pasted wallpaper mural comes in an eight panel format. They are arranged in four panels above and four panels below. You can also choose to get them in vertical strips instead of panels. Another option at your finger tips are accent murals. These are a smaller version for decorating purposes.
You need to measure each sheet of wallpaper so as to find out how many you might need for your wall, provided you know its dimensions.
1. The first step is to prepare by removing all furniture away from the wall and cover it with plastic drop cloths or tarps. Also cover all flooring with drop cloths, unless you are in an area with tile floors in which case you can leave uncovered.
